The Queen and Ghana’s Year of Return

Ghana is going to be lit thanks to 2019 being marked the year of return!!! And the Queen, Queen, gets ready to join in the mass march from many in diaspora heading over to Ghana.

A disclaimer here though, Queen is not the Queen of England, her Majesty the Queen, Queen Elizabeth II. That being said, in 2018, Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo declared 2019 as the Year of Return in order to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the arrival of African slaves in America; hence the noise of the year of return and hashtags #yearofreturn, #yearofreturn2019, #yearofreturnghana.

Celebrities such as Steve Harvey and Cardi B (whose was without incident), already made their way to Ghana and it’s rumored that Rick Ross, Naomi Campbell, Beyonce and even many more are already headed there. You don’t want to miss it!

Top on the list is the big party happening. Yes, Afrochella 2019 in Ghana, December 28, 2019!!! Afrochellans, you don’t want to miss out this festival at the Elwak Stadium. Tickets here! What a time it will be, a community of Afrochellans.

It’s no surprise then that the Afriket Team also decided to engage in this venture, with Queen opting to start a proposed African tour with Ghana first.

In case you have no idea about Ghana, here’s a little guide to help you out.
